Asheville, NC - The Lady Fighting Owls displayed a strong performance on the pitch today.

The first goal came during the 27th minute by Murphy, NC native, Bianca Canizio and the women's soccer team never looked back. They showed great poise and control throughout the majority of the match.

"We were extremely impressed with our first 15 minutes of play," says Head Coach Stacey Enos. "They possessed the ball well and created some great opportunities. We had five freshman start and they made a big impact."

Bianca Canizio scored unassisted when the ball bounced off the left post back to Canizio as she knocked in the first goal at 27:07. Marley Fischer from Mountain Rest, SC got the second goal of the day during the 34th minute off an assist from Winston Salem, NC native, Marissa Romeo.

"Marley showed great composure at sweeper, Georgia defended well and got into the attack, Leah was phenomenal, Kat was composed and held the center and Audrey utilized her speed on the flanks," comments Enos. "We got a solid win off a good team. Our players should be proud of their efforts."

Grace Hamlin, of Colden, NY, kept a clean slate with 8 saves for the Fighting Owls. Peace College led in the shot category with a total of 13 shots and the Fighting Owls had 8 shots.
