Asheville, NC - The Warren Wilson men's basketball team overcame a slow start to win its eighth straight game defeating Toccoa Falls College 60-47 on Tuesday night.
Toccoa Falls started the game strong leading by as many as 11 before finishing the half with a 25-19 advantage. Warren Wilson answered to start the second half with a Rashad Ali layup and a Raysean Love three-point field goal to pull within one. After trading points, Anthony Barringer's pull-up jump shot gave the Owls their first lead since the opening minute at 33-32 with 14 minutes to play.
The two-point lead held until two spectacular blocks by Patrick Albright and back-to-back jump shots by Tyler Triplett gave Warren Wilson a four point cushion. Barringer followed up with another jump shot sparking a 10-0 Owls' run to seal the game.
Barringer led Warren Wilson with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Ali added 11 points and nine rebounds in the win. Warren Wilson held Toccoa Falls to just 33% shooting for the game and forced 18 turnovers. After the slow start, the Owls shot 59% in the second half to secure the victory.
Warren Wilson goes for its ninth straight win on Saturday at home against Piedmont International at 4:00 p.m. Prior to tip-off, the Owls will recognize the team's five seniors for their commitment and dedication to Warren Wilson College and the men's basketball program.
