Asheville, NC - The Owls fall 5-1 to Columbia College. This brings Warren Wilson to 3-6 on the season.
The game got off to an intense start with both the Fighting Owls and the Fighting Koalas attacking strong. The Koalas struck first with a goal by Jessica Martinez in the 14th minute.
Marley Fischer would answer back scoring off of a great pass from Marisa Romeo at 19:46. The Owls would fail to capitalize on their momentum as Hayley Faruqui found the back of the net in the 31st minute. The Owls were down 2-1 at the half.
As the second half began the Koalas showed their control of the game. Three goals were put away by Columbia within a ten minute stretch. First Ashley Tanner in the 54th minute and then two back to back goals from Jessica Martinez at 59:01 and 62:23 to finish her hat-trick. The final score was 5-1.
The Lady Owls look to bounce back as they play Berea College on October 5th at 1:00PM. This is Homecoming for Warren Wilson College.
