Marin holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Science and began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the triathlon team at Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia. His athletes, representing multiple countries, have competed on the international stage, including appearances at both the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships.

Since joining Warren Wilson College, Marin has played a key role in developing and expanding the collegiate triathlon program. Under his leadership, the Women's Triathlon team earned back-to-back NCAA Division III East Regional runner-up finishes and placed sixth at the Collegiate National Championship in his first season. He also led the establishment of the Men's Triathlon Club, expanding opportunities for student-athletes to participate in the sport.

With a strong emphasis on athlete development, team culture, and long-term success, Marin is committed to building Warren Wilson College into a nationally competitive NCAA Division III triathlon program, with the ultimate goal of contending for national championships.
