Harris Wagner

Harris Wagner is the current Head Cycling Coach. Harris grew up in Queens, NY and never thought he would leave the city. However, after high school he took two years to work full time and discovered a love for outdoor activities. This led him to furthering his education at Warren Wilson College in the beautiful Swannanoa Valley. He graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology and concentration in Genetics. While he attended Warren Wilson, he discovered a passion for racing bikes. Having only been introduced to the world of mountain biking through a bike he purchased off ebay and the few trails around NYC there was much left to learn in the world of biking. He knew he wanted to be on the bike team, whatever that meant. Over the four years he trained hard, competed at multiple collegiate national events and was part of the 2016 MTB team that won the overall national championship title.

Since graduating he has worked previously as the assistant coach for the cycling team. He also worked in construction as a painter and renovator. He has worked as a social media and web developer for a local magazine. Most recently he worked as a Land Surveyor Crew Chief and fleet manager, focusing on conservation projects. He lives on the West side of Asheville and has many hobbies.
