Before starting at Warren Wilson, Valerie Cook worked with multiple physical therapy clinics in the Asheville area and collegiate programs, including James Madison University, Queens University of Charlotte, and Western Carolina University. At James Madison, she worked with their Division I football program, specializing in pre-season sports medicine. While at Queens, she worked with their rugby program. In addition to her experience, she is a licensed athletic trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, certified personal trainer, has her CSCS, is a USAT level 1 triathlon coach, and has a degree in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University. Her focus is on injury prevention and holistic health. Based in Asheville, Valerie enjoys rock climbing, biking, and hiking in her free time, often accompanied by her dog, Moon Pie.
