MISENHEIMER, N.C. — The Warren Wilson College women's cross country team placed fifth at the Pfeiffer University Cross Country Invitational, scoring 99 points in the women's 5K.

Host Pfeiffer captured the team title with 19 points, followed by Salem (70), Johnson & Wales (N.C.) (80), Johnson C. Smith (91) and Warren Wilson (99).

Junior Bella Sosa paced the Owls, crossing the finish line in 24:17.4 to place 12th overall. Senior Marlise Pedisich followed closely behind, finishing 13th in 24:28.2, giving Warren Wilson two runners among the top 13 finishers.

Freshman Madelyn Ford was Warren Wilson's third finisher, completing the course in 30:14.6. Sophomore Trinity Larsen followed with a time of 31:08.0.

Sophomore Matteo Zumbano completed the Owls' scoring five, crossing the finish line in 35:17.0.
