DANVILLE, VA - The Warren Wilson Owls faced a tough stretch on the road this weekend in Danville, Virginia, as they took on Averett University and Regent University. Despite some solid individual performances, the Owls came up short in both matchups.
In the first game, the Owls struggled to find their rhythm against Averett University, ultimately falling 0-3. Despite the loss, there were some standout efforts. Tobin Vignos played a key role, contributing 4 kills and 5 digs to the team's efforts. Defensively, Mason Hollar, Jonah Tupelo, and William Bush put up a wall at the net, each recording one block.
The Owls couldn't bounce back in their second match against Regent University, losing 0-3. RJ Daly put up a strong offensive performance with 3 kills, while Walden McLeod led the defensive charge with 5 digs. Setting up the offense was Jude Edward Dunlap, who dished out 5 assists, but unfortunately, the Owls couldn't capitalize on these efforts.
Both games showcased the team's resilience, with key players stepping up individually, but Warren Wilson was ultimately unable to find the consistency needed to secure a win.
Next up, the Owls will look to regroup and bounce back with energy as they continue their season.
