The Owl Swim Team traveled to Sewanee University on Friday October 26th for a two-day meet against Sewanee University, Milligan College, Lagrange College, Emmanuel College, and Birmingham Southern College.
"We had a smaller group at this meet but I am very impressed with how everyone did and we had a great time kicking off what I expect will be an excellent season" stated Head Coach Elle Grier.
Day one of the meet was a success with several top 16 finishes. Freshman Sarah Scott made her debut in the 50 Breastroke placing 14thwith a time of 40.09. Junior Mara Trowbridge had two impressive swims placing 14thin the 100IM with a time of 1:14.77 and 9thin the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 22:07.21.
The great swims continued on day two of the invitational. Freshman Alex Ardagna earned top 16 finishes in both the 50 Freestyle with a time of 27.94, the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:40.46, and the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:05.86. Scott placed again on day two with 12thin the 100 Breastroke with a time of 1:40.00. Trowbridge also scored big points for the owls with 15thin the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:12.30, 7thin the 500 Freestyle with a time of 6:15.77 and 10thin the 200IM with a time of 2:50.35. Lastly, Senior Michael Nowak made his swimming debut in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 38.08.
The Owls will travel on November 2ndto take on Mars Hill University and King University at 6pm!
