BREVARD, N.C. - The Warren Wilson College women's soccer team (5-4-2) faced off with local WNC-area opponent Brevard College (2-7-3) on Wednesday evening at Brevard, as the two opponents drew, 0-0 in the non-conference matchup.
From the first whistle the game was fast and physical. The Tornados had several shots before the Owls were able to have their own chances on goal. The Tornados outshot the Owls 19-11 however the Owls had more shots on frame 9-7.
The second half the Owls' defense would come up big many times. The Tornados were close to earning a goal when they were awarded a penalty kick late in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Susie Lusardi stepped up big and made a fantastic save denying the Tornados.
The Owls outshot the Tornados, 3-1 in the two overtime periods, as the match ended in a scoreless draw, 0-0.
The Owls hit the road to play Allen University on October 17th and then return home Saturday, October 26th against Piedmont International at 2pm.
