Women's Soccer Drops Conference Match to Johnson and Wales

Swannanoa, N.C. – The #5 ranked Warren Wilson College women's soccer team lost to #6 ranked Johnson & Wales Charlotte Saturday, 2-1. The Owls travel to Brevard College on Wednesday to take on the Tornados at 7 pm.

The Wildcats got on the scoreboard first in the 18th minute but the Owls quickly responded six minutes later. The Owls earned a free kick 35 yards from goal. Junior Jazmin Featherstone, the Owls' leading scorer, stepped up and hit the ball over the outstretched goalkeeper to level the game. The goal was Featherstone's 10th on the season. The remaining first game stayed tied 1-1.

The second half was back-and-forth with each team having chances to take the lead. The Wildcats would eventually get the game-winner in the 56th minute off a set-piece.

The shots were even 12-12 and goalkeeper Susie Lusardi picked up 8 saves.
