Lancaster, S.C. – The Warren Wilson College women's soccer team defeated USC Lancaster 6-0. The Owls are now 3-3-1.
The Owls jumped on the scoreboard early when junior Jazmin Featherstone scored her 5th goal of the season assist from senior Ally Nestler. Featherstone would score again minutes later this time assisted by junior Sierra Bell. Nestler would get her chance on goal next and add two goals to lead the Owls 4-0 into halftime.
The dominating play by the Owls would continue in the second half. Seven minutes later senior Avalon Zimlinghaus would score their first goal of the season assisted by sophomore Chloe Riess. The final goal of the match would come unassisted from freshman Naomy Avila in the 67th who would also score her first goal of the season.
"This game was great for us to look at different players in different positions. It's also great to have different players contributing and getting their chance to show us they deserve to be in the starting lineup," said head coach Lydia Jackson.
The Owls return home Saturday to face Allen University at 3 pm.
