The Lady Owls returned home to face local NCAA D2 rival Mars Hill and fell to the lions 65-54. The Lions had an explosive second quarter scoring 25 points and extended their lead to 18 by halftime. The Owls would respond by outscoring Mars Hill in the second half but it would not be enough to overcome the deficit created in the first half. Kalie Mayo led the Owls with 14 points and she was followed by Malaka Elix with 9.
"We struggled offensively and missed way to many foul shots and layups. Mars Hill came out on fire and hit shots all game long. We had long stretches when we couldn't put anything in the basket and that hurt us tonight," Coach Davis said about the game. Defensively the Owls forced 23 turnovers and had 10 steals on the night as well as tied the Lions in rebounds. Sam Hoyle lead the Owls with 10 rebonds.
