Charlotte, N.C. - The Warren Wilson cross country teams ran well at Queens University of Charlotte Friday evening with all the runners enjoying the wide firm trails.
The Owls women ran first with three out of the seven runners setting new PR's. The team was led by senior Sophie Willihnganz, who ran the 5K in 21:57. Junior Ellie Goldstein wasn't far behind her, as she ran a 22:32. Sophomore Kiersten Keith-Pedersen was next in for the team lowering her PR to 23:10, with fellow sophomore EllaJane Nelson following her running 26:39. Freshman Ellei Burmeister improved her time running 29:03 as did freshman Sasha Pitkofsky, who finished in 30:25.
The teams are excited to head to Lake James next for fall break where they plan to balance a lot of running on the miles of beautiful trails with some fun and downtime to relax. That should set them up to do well in their next meet at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC on Saturday October 27th.
