Asheville, N.C.- The Fighting Owl's men's and women's cross country teams got to race locally today in UNC Asheville's Cross Country Invitational. It was the teams third race of the season in hot conditions.
The Owls women ran a 5K and were led for the second week in a row by senior Sophie Willihnganz who completed course in 23:11, and once again she was closely followed by junior Ellie Goldstein who ran 23:25. Next for the Owls was sophomore Kiersten Keith-Pederson finishing the race in 24:45, followed by freshman Emma Strong in 25:40, with Emme Mcmanus rounding out the top five for the women at 27:05.
Next up the teams are running here on campus in the Homecoming 5K, Saturday October 6 and are looking forward to getting out with family and friends.
