Women's Tennis Competes In Inaugural Match

Banner Elk, N.C. - The Warren Wilson men's and women's tennis teams opened their season Saturday, February 9 at Lee's McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Although the temperature was in the 30s, the match took place indoors at the Lees McRae tennis center. Unfortunately, the veteran Lees McRae squads came out on top.

This was the inaugural match for the women's team and the first dual match in Warren Wilson tennis history. The women's match was complemented by seven players, including Zosha Silverstein-Bilden,Kait Zinnecker, Jasmine Bender, Anna Risano, Ella Jane Nelson, Autumn Hough and Ceci Neill

For the men's team Isaac DavisTristan PerrymanKezar Berger, and Leonardo Borges competed well against a seasoned Lees McRae team.

"I am very proud of the way each of our players competed. Striving for every ball and fighting through each point, they never gave up. Then as each match went on, every player improved throughout their match," said Coach Greene

The next match will be the Owls first dual home match against Johnson University on February 19 at noon. So mark your calendar's and come out and support you're fighting Owls on the courts.
