Swim Team Competes Well At Greensboro Invitational

The Owls Swim Team traveled to the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, NC for the Greensboro Invitational this past weekend. The weekend was full of season bests and personal records for the team.

"I felt stellar during my races. We have practiced very hard the past few weeks and it was awesome to have it all pay off this weekend" said freshman Sarah Scott who went three consecutive best times this weekend in the 50 Free with a time of 31.68, the 100 Breast with a time of 1:35.25, and the 100 Free with a time of 1:12.97. Her 100 Breastroke also earned her an 8th place finish.

The women's team was able to defeat Greensboro College by 22 points in the final scores. Junior Mara Trowbridge went season best times and scored in the top 3 in all of her races. She placed 3rd in the 500 Free with a time of 6:08.56, 2nd in the 100 Back with a time of 1:08.62, and 3rd in the 1650 Free with a time of 21:33.58.

The men's team did very well also over the weekend with several impressive swims. Junior Samuel Moore earned a total of 36 points for the team in his three events. He also had two season best swims in the 200 Free with a time of 2:10.07 and the 100 Free with a time of 56.65. Freshman Alex Ardagna had a excellent swim in the 100 Free with a time of 1:03.18 improving by 2.68 seconds.

The Owls will compete again on January 12th against Greensboro College and William and Peace University.
