#5 Women's Basketball Fall To #4 Johnson & Wales

Charlotte, N.C. - The Lady Owls participated in the first annual EMAC conference tournament as the #2 seed and fell to the #3 seed Johnson and Wales 72-60 on Friday afternoon.  The Owls found themselves struggling from the field again and would end the first half only shooting 17% connecting on 7 of 41 attempts.  The Owls would improve to 40% in the second half but could not overcome the 11 halftime deficit.

The Owls ended the night shooting only 28% from the field and 31% from the 3pt line.

Danasia Dumas led the Owls with 16 and she was followed by Amber Godfrey who had 13 and Danielle Hinkelman who had 11.

"We missed so many easy opportunities at the rim today as well as missed several foul shots.  In these types of games you have to capitalize in those areas.  On paper we did a lot of things right. We forced more turnovers, had more steals, more assists and more shot attempts, we just didn't shoot well. Last game against Johnson and Wales we were out rebounded by 20, tonight we only got out rebounded by 5," stated head coach Robin Martin

The Lady Owls earned the 6th seed in the National Tournament and will return to Uniontown for the second consecutive season.
