Charlotte, N.C. - The Lady Owls win streak came to an end with a loss to #6 Johnson and Wales on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls started the game struggling from the field, and would find themselves down 44-14 at halftime. The Owls were 0-17 from the 3 point line in the first half.
The Lady Owls rebounded in the second half to outscore the Wildcats 43-29 but couldn't overcome the large deficit.
The Owls were led offensively by Danaisa Dumas, who finished with 20. Amber Godfrey followed her with 15.
"The last three games we have started off slow and today we just dug ourselves into a hole that we couldn't get out of. We were out rebounded by 30. That's the difference of the game. Johnson and Wales had 38 points in the paint and 22 off second chance opportunities. We had 14 points in the paint and 0 second chance opportunities," stated head coach Robin Martin.
The Owls will look to bounce back on February 8th, when they host EMAC foe Mid-Atlantic Christian University. The Owls will look to sweep the season series after pummeling the Mustangs at Mid-Atlantic earlier this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
