#5 Women's Basketball Rally Late; Extend Streak to 5

Swannanoa, N.C. - The Lady Owls won a thriller against Piedmont International University, 77-75.  This win adds one more to their win streak, which now stands at 5 in a row.

The Owls found themselves down most of the game and at several points down by double figures, but a valiant effort from the Owls set the stage for a thrilling finished, which resulted in a season sweep of the Bruins. The Owls were down 8 with under a minute to go and would create a series of turnovers, capped by a steal by Danasia Dumas, which led to the go ahead basket.  With under 7 seconds Dumas knocked down a three that gave the Owls the lead, and eventually seal the victory for the home team.

Dumas led the Owls with 34 points. She was followed by Tierney Porter, who finished with 11.

"This was not a pretty win for us by any means.  We could not find our rhythm on either end of the court, but some how we found a way to pull out a win.  I am proud of the grit our team showed tonight.  They never gave up.  This was one of the most exciting finishes we have ever had and Danaisa is just a big time player who stepped up in big moment," stated head coach Robin Martin.

The Owls are back in action on Monday, when they travel to Tennessee to take on Johnson University.
