Mars Hill, N.C. - The Lady Owls fall now to 1-6 with a loss to NCAA D2 local rival Mars Hill 78-69.

The Owls put together a strong third quarter but never got closer then 2 to the Lions. The Owls were led by Danasia Dumas who had 18 points. She was followed by Asia Caldwell who had 12 and Tierney Porter recorded her first double double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Owls won the battle of the boards but struggled with turnovers.

"This was the first game we have had multiple scorers in double figures but we just had to many careless turnovers at crucial times. We are also missing too many inside shots. We shot 27-77 from the field. Defensively we are getting better but we have not put a game together this season where we are threats on both ends," stated head coach Robin Martin.

The Owls are back in action November 24th when they travel to Oakland City, Indiana to take on Oakland City University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. CST
