Charlotte, N.C. - The Warren Wilson cross country teams ran well on the Royals course in Charlotte NC Friday evening with all the runners enjoying the wide firm trails.
In the men's 8K race, sophomore Julian Rohn-Capellaro had another strong race finishing the course in 27:22. He was followed by a tight group of Owls men, with junior Sam Moore coming in at 29:48, one step ahead of freshman Sam Colston also in 29:48. Sophomore Ian Heaps finished seconds behind the pair at 29:55. Freshman Nikki Bova-Ingraffia, who is working his way back from ankle injuries, had his first outing with the team and put in a solid effort to run 30:51. Sophomore Benj Welland ran a personal best time, pushing his 8k time under 40 minutes with a 39:11 finish, while Malcolm Mitchell-Bennett also continues to improve running 44:06.
The teams are excited to head to Lake James next for fall break where they plan to balance a lot of running on the miles of beautiful trails with some fun and downtime to relax. That should set them up to do well in their next meet at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC on Saturday October 27th.
