Swannanoa, N.C. - #14 Men's Basketball bounced back after a tough loss on Friday night with a convincing 101-61 victory over Crown College on Saturday. The Owls have now won 4 of their last 5 games.
The Owls controlled the game from beginning to end, and relied heavily on their freshman in the absence of leading scorer Jordan Gant (illness) and an early ankle injury to starting point guard Justin Storr.
Freshman Jakorian Martin tallied a career high 26 points, knocking down 8 3's. Fellow freshman Nick McDonald tallied a career high of 24 points along with 10 rebounds. Jaquann Lockhart finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds.
"Wins are nice. We are playing to win a conference championship, so we have to continue getting better daily," stated head coach Anthony Barringer.
The Owls are back in action on Wedensday when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to take on conference rival Johnson & Wales University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
