Swannanoa, N.C. - The #15 Warren Wilson Owls hosted Campbellsville University-Somerset on Sunday in their second game in two days and were able to take down the Tigers 107-100.
The Owls led by as much as 14, but the Tigers refused to go away. The Owls would hold a slim two point lead going into halftime, but a slow second half by the Owls, which the Tigers capitalized on, saw the Owls down 6 midway through the second half. The Owls, who have been in this situation multiple times over the last few weeks, refused to allow the outcome to be as they have been in recent weeks. A surge from the defense turned into instant offense, led by sophomore Brent Davis and junior Jordan Gant, who finished with 32 points and 39 points.
"We have been waiting for this type of performance from Brent. He is our x-factor because he is able to guard every team's best player, and when he is clicking offensively, there arent many people, if any, in our league that can stop him from doing what he does. We will look to continue getting better and prepare for Tuesday," exclaimed head coach Anthony Barringer.
The Owls are back in action Tuesday, when they host Hiwassee College. The Owls defeated the Tigers on opening night and will look to sweep the season series. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
