Swannanoa, N.C. - The #15 men's basketball team hosted #8 Johnson and Wales Wildcats on Saturday evening, looking to snap their four game losing skid. Unfortunately for the Owls, the Wildcats were able to jump out to an early lead and were able to withstand a late Owls run, defeating the Owls 101-90.
The two teams were back and forth in the early moments of the game, until a Wildcats run midway through the first half gave them a big advantange. The Wildcats would take a 20 point lead into the half.
In the second half the Wildcats would take their lead to as much as 25 points before the Owls would answer with a run of their own. The Owls would cut the Wildcats deficit to 10 with three minutes remaining in the game, but that was as close as they would get.
The Owls are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Kentucky to take on Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg. The Owls are looking to avenge a three-point loss to the Tigers last week in a game that the Owls led by as much as 16 points.
