Elizabeth City, N.C. - The men's basketball team traveled to Elizabeth City, NC to take on Mid-Atlantic Christian University in their first ever EMAC matchup. The Owls struck first, taking an early 18 point lead. The Mustangs would fight back and the teams would go into the half deadlocked at 47.
The second half the Owls would strike again, taking their lead to 10 points, but were unable to hold on to it. The game would come down to the wire, and Jordan Gant did what he does so well, create an opportunity and put the Owls ahead by 2, and seal the game with a steal and 2 free throws. The Owls came out victorious with a final score of 95-91.
"We aren't playing great basketball right now, but a road win is never easy to come across, and we made it happen. Really proud of our fight. We have work to do, and we will do it and get ready for Alice Lloyd."
Jordan Gant led all scorers with 24 points. He also pulled down 9 rebounds, and 4 steals. Sophomore Brent Davis finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds, 10 of which were offensive rebounds. Jaquann Lockhart fell short of a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
