Cycling Has Strong Performance at Nationals

Augusta, G.A.-The Warren Wilson Cycling Team competed at USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships on May 9 in Augusta, G.A.

The Owls competed in the individual time trial. Mason Hopkins ended up on the podium, finishing 4th place in the women's varsity race and James Mayer finished a strong 11th place in the men's varsity race. Each field was stacked with strong fields of athletes who race on both national and international stages.

Head coach Mandy Gallagher expressed her enthusiasm over Hopkins' and Mayer's results, "Our athletes work hard and hard work equals great results. Mason and James performed exemplary in each of their races. I couldn't be more proud!"

The Owls return in the fall and race at Georgia Tech on August 24 and 25 to kick off the 2019 collegiate mountain bike season for the conference.
