Owls Finish Third In Cyclocross Conference Championships

Swannanoa, N.C. - The Warren Wilson Cycling Team hosted the SECCC Cyclocross Championships on Sat., Dec. 1. The owls had a strong 10 member team competing and garnered some great results.

Nate Peters in just his second ever cyclocross race won the men's C field. Nikki Bova-Ingraffia finished a close 2nd and Ryan Woody followed in 3rd place.

Bella Cimeno raced well and finished in a competitive third place in the Women's B race. Along with Cimeno, Lucy Thompson and Jordana Swartz finished in the top 8 of the field.

Later that day, Mason Hopkins would get her first win in the Women's Open division race.

The Owls finished the cyclocross conference season securing third place overall in the team omnium. "The stellar results of this season impressed me. I think we are going to have a very strong national-caliber team next cyclocross season. I'm so proud of this team!," said head coach Mandy Gallagher.
